Over 60 students designed, created and implemented a mobile app to showcase Public Art. The app will include an interactive augmented reality experience.
The Interactive Map uses GPS coordinates to store each public art location. Visitors on-site will scan the QR code allowing the app to open the appropriate artwork within the map. Audio with transcript is in place for accessibility.
The Group Portrait, 1957 by Douglas Coupland, which is featured on the front of the RMG building, was selected to create rich content for an augmented reality experience, hoping to increase the engagement and interaction of visitors.
The app will be launched soon on the RMG website... stay tuned!
