City Idea Lab allows post-secondary students to work directly with faculty and city staff to co-design solutions to local issues through knowledge transfer, dialogue, and experimentation. Each semester, students work on unique city-identified challenge questions.

How might the city maximize its revenue potential post-Covid in regards to recreation fitness membership?
How might Oshawa Fire enhance its digital assets to better engage the public in fire prevention?
How might the City and RMG (Robert McLaughlin Gallery) further engage the public in Public Art with the use of augmented reality?
How might vacant properties in the city be developed in a unique way to build innovative and sustainable communities?
What are the financial, social and environmental burdens associated with illegal dumping? What factors influence the prevalence of illegal dumping and how can the City mitigate these factors?
